So, Episode 3 will be available tonight at midnight (EST) on InvisibleGorilla.net. Except, we are going to be doing things a little different this go round. So here…

Up until now, we have been releasing these projects for a price of $5. This is a bargain. Considering the cost of producing high end work, and that the buyer also receives the instrumentals/acapellas (if purchased from the IG website). Also that all other HP material prior has been released free of charge.

With that said, after much thought and consideration, Invisible Gorilla has decided to release Episode 3 for free download. Not only that, but Episode 1 - “Life Is Komplicated”, and Episode 2 - “Welcome Home” will also be available for free download. 

So as per midnight 9/30, all three of these projects will be available for a “pay what you want” price. You are free to pay whatever you feel the project is worth. But you are not obligated to give anything at all. We strongly believe and depend on your continued support. Whether by word of mouth, financially, or just by simply appreciating the art.

First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who has downloaded “EGO” so far. I just wanted to clarify a few things so there won’t be any confusion. First off, EGO is not the official single for Hell’s Paradise II. It’s actually not even a Hell’s Paradise song per se. The track is an instrumental off of a project that was already released from a producer/mc named Black Milk. Also, we aren’t even close to the 1.3 million downloads that I tweeted about yesterday. That was a joke that I really didn’t think I would have to clarify. There are a lot of things that have to happen for anyone to see those types of numbers, even on a free download.

We also have been getting some messages asking questions about the Haitian line at the beginning of the song. On behalf of Sean I just want to apologize to anyone that may have been offended by this line. The line was not written to belittle or take shots at Haitian people. Please chalk this up to Sean’s lack of vocabulary and not his heart.

As for the song in itself, EGO started as an idea that Sean Johnson sent me for something he was working on. When I heard it I immediately thought it fit with some of the themes and content from Hell’s Paradise 1. It was a song that I was very excited to record. In my opinion, each MC painted a really good picture of the struggle that we have with the monster that is known as EGO. It’s a monster that if not put in his place, can get out of control and have you riding shotgun while he is at the wheel, as my brother Wit put it.

I pray that you all enjoy the song, but most importantly that you grab hold of the message. As far as Hell’s Paradise 2 goes, we are hard at work on making it a solid project. As of right now there is not an official release date, but I do know that we want to release it as soon as possible. As the completion of the project gets closer you’ll start to see more updates.
